🍲 WHERE I LEARNED THE HUSTLE
Long before startups and dashboards, I grew up amidst the clatter of vessels, the aroma of sambhar, and the organized chaos of wedding kitchens. My family has run Gnanambiga Catering, a multi-generational South Indian wedding catering business, for over 40 years.
From a young age, I was part of the action — helping manage large-scale events, handling last-minute vendor calls, and coordinating service teams at venues packed with thousands.
This wasn’t just hospitality. It was real-time operations, stakeholder management, and problem-solving under pressure.
What stuck with me most wasn’t the food (though that’s a close second) — it was the focus on experience, quality, and trust. Lessons I carry with me whether I’m building a digital product or managing a creative project.
🐾 BUILDING WITH LOVE - CANINE BOWL
Back in 2019, I co-founded Canine Bowl, a pet food startup born out of two things I deeply care about: dogs and doing things the right way. We weren’t just making pet food — we were obsessing over nutrition plans, talking to vets, visiting kitchens, and working with pet parents who wanted more than generic kibble.
I did everything from customer research and packaging design to marketing, sales, and vendor coordination — packaging to Instagram posts, supply chain chaos to customer delight. It was messy, rewarding, and wildly educational. We learned fast, iterated faster, and built a loyal customer base — but we also faced the challenges of scale, which taught me how to pivot without losing purpose.
This was my first experience creating a product from scratch and validating it in the real world.
📉 TURNING DATA IN TO DECISIONS - ADQVEST CAPITAL (NOW CALLED THURRO)
At Adqvest Capital, I stepped into the world of finance through the lens of data. I joined as a Data Analyst at a time when the team was scaling fast, and automation was the name of the game.
Over two years, I built and maintained 200+ Python bots to automate data extraction and analysis — this wasn’t just about saving time; it was about creating a real-time data backbone that the investment team could rely on. We used that data to power dashboards, drive smarter portfolio decisions, and even improve how we assessed risk for institutional clients.
One of my favorite projects was the Location Intelligence Tool — I helped analyze and score commercial spaces across India using over 20 parameters. It was part urban planning, part investment science, and very much a team effort. I used Python, MySQL, and Bokeh to scrape and visualize this data — helping the team decide where the next big investment could land.
It was here that I learned to blend machine learning, business context, and storytelling — because numbers don’t mean anything if they can’t drive action.
🌾 ON THE GROUND WITH THE FARMERS - GREENPOD LABS
Before all this, I spent a summer at GreenPod Labs, an AgriTech startup fighting food loss using biotech. My job was to figure out how to bring their innovation to market — to retailers, cold chain companies, and distributors.
I created GTM strategies, built pilot plans, pitched to businesses, and learned how complex and beautiful the food supply chain really is. This was my first exposure to market validation and the gritty world of B2B sales.
It also made me realize how real-world frictions are very different from PowerPoint assumptions.
📈 SCALING CONTENT LIKE A PRODUCT - PIPECANDY
My journey with PipeCandy was a two-year deep dive into product-led marketing and data-driven growth at a retail intelligence SaaS company. I led content marketing initiatives with a strong focus on performance — not just writing for clicks, but crafting strategies that moved the needle across the funnel.
In the early months, I was neck-deep in experimentation — refining cold emails, testing CTAs, and obsessing over open rates. With tools like HubSpot, Klenty, and SendGrid, I helped scale our outreach engine, increasing email open rates by 150% and boosting sign-ups 5x. Every campaign was a lesson in user psychology and the art of getting someone to care in under 10 seconds.
As I moved into content marketing, I began focusing on the full funnel — coordinating with writers, SEOs, and developers to turn our blogs into growth engines. One highlight was revamping our entire website and migrating it from WordPress to Webflow. It wasn’t just a facelift — it led to a 30% increase in lead flow. We saw traffic double, MQLs triple, and content finally become a sales ally.
Internally, I built and presented dashboards — like our Lead Funnel Analysis — that made marketing performance visible in daily standups. These tools helped align marketing and product in a way that felt truly cross-functional.
PipeCandy taught me that good content doesn’t just tell stories — it drives conversions, informs product direction, and most importantly, earns attention in a noisy world.
